Over the past decade Wolverhampton has undergone a worrying transformation. A once thriving vibrant town, to a dark depressing moody city. Where has it gone? That buzz? That vibe? That energy? The people from far and wide? Ask the club owner, the promoter, the bouncer, the kebab shop owner, the local taxi driver, the policeman, or the general public. You will receive the same answer as we are all affected by the potentially fatal disease that has infected and took a grip on our potentially beautiful city. Gun crime, gang culture, drugs. Ask “how should we deal with the problem” “lock them up and throw away the keys”. One might try to alienate themselves from the problem believing consciously or unconsciously that the actions of that criminal fraternity plays no part or poses no threat to their general well being. I would ask people with that trade of thought to think again. This involves all of us.
